Qualifying for the 2027 IPSF World Championships
From 1 January 2027, the SPSF is no longer a member of the IPSF. SPAC is therefore no longer a qualifying event for the IPSF World Championships.
Qualification remains possible. IPSF rules allow Swiss athletes to compete as “Open” athletes. To do so, they must take part in an Open competition organised abroad.
How it works
IPSF member federations offer “Open” categories at their national championships. This allows athletes from countries without an IPSF national championship to compete. Swiss athletes aiming to qualify for the 2027 World Championships will do so through one of these competitions.
Who can participate
- Disciplines and divisions
- Pole Sports, Aerial Hoop Sports and Aerial Pole Sports: Open Elite categories are offered at all IPSF national championships.
- Artistic Pole, Artistic Aerial Hoop, Artistic Aerial Pole and Artistic Aerial Silks: Open Professional categories are offered at all IPSF national championships.
- Nationality or residence: you must be a Swiss national or hold a permanent residence permit or a valid work permit in Switzerland.
- Dual nationality: you may represent only one country. To change countries, you must wait one full competition year.
- Age: your category is determined by your age on the first day of the World Championships, not your age on the day of the Open competition.
Key rules
1. Only one Open competition per season.
You may take part in only one Open competition per competition year. Choose it carefully.
2. A maximum of two athletes per country and category.
The scores of all Swiss athletes are compared across all Open competitions.
- The highest-scoring Swiss athlete in each category qualifies.
- The second-ranked athlete qualifies if they achieve the minimum score set by the IPSF.
- The third- and fourth-ranked athletes become reserves.
3. Minimum scores for second place.
These figures are from the latest published season and may be amended for 2027.
- Pole Sports: 33 points, or 27 points in Masters 40+, 50+ and 60+.
- Aerial Hoop Sports: 25 points, or 30 points in Seniors.
- Aerial Pole Sports: score set by the IPSF.
4. The result may take time.
Final qualification may only be known after the last Open competition of the season in which Swiss athletes participate. The IPSF publishes the scores as they become available.
5. Artistic Pole, Artistic Aerial Hoop, Artistic Aerial Pole and Artistic Aerial Silks.
The highest-scoring Swiss athlete in each category in the Professional division is invited to the World Championships.
