History

The Swiss Pole & Aerial Sports Federation (SPSF) was founded in 2013 by a group of enthusiasts and professionals in the field, with the aim of unifying athletes, coaches, event organizers and fans of pole sports and associated disciplines.

  • 2014, organization of the first Swiss pole sprots championships
  • 2015, the SPSF is recognized by the International Pole Sports Federation (IPSF) and organizes its first Swiss championships under the aegis of the IPSF; Switzerland can thus send its first athletes to the World Championships in London.
  • 2017, the SPSF’s management was taken over by a new committee, under the chairmanship of Thomas Ruegger, who reconfirmed its affiliation with the IPSF.
  • 2018, the Swiss Championships, enabling 10 Swiss athletes to qualify once again to take part in the World Championships in Tarragona, Spain, with the support of the premise of the future Swiss Team (national team).
  • 2019, the Swiss championships will be held for the second year in Lausanne at the Lausanne University Sports Center.
  • 2022, the Swiss championships will be held in Biel/Bienne
  • October 2022, Switzerland hosts the World Pole & Aerial Sports Championships 2022 in the Olympic capital of Lausanne
